Travel in luxury, whilst saving yourself hours on transit time on our most exclusive day trip to Machu Picchu.  It is an unforgettable experience with amazing and breathtaking panoramic views on the 3.5-hour Vistadome Train journey which travels from Cusco (Poroy Train Station) to Aguas Calientes and back to Cusco. We will see beautiful Andean meadows lying amongst the various colorful mountains peaks, the wide valleys, the Inca farming terraces built by hand hundreds of years ago, snow-capped mountains and sub-tropical jungle along the way to Aguas Calientes – the town at the feet of Machu Picchu.

On arrival in Aguas Calientes, we board a shuttle bus up the zig zagging hill to the mystical UNESCO World Heritage site of Machu Picchu (2,400m/7,907ft). We will enjoy a magical and mysterious journey back in time as we visit the Sacred Inca Citadel called Machu Picchu, “Old Sacred Mountain” and have plenty of time to explore this magnificent Incan wonder with an amazing history and many little secrets about the thriving culture of people who once lived there.

ITINERARY

The first flush of this glorious morning leads to one of the most memorable adventures of your life. To start the day, we pick you up from your hotel lobby at 6:35am for a short 25 minutes in our private van to Poroy Train Station. The train station is located right outside Cusco and departs at 7:35am.

Next, enjoy a relaxing voyage through the Andean meadows lying amongst the various colorful mountain peaks, the beautiful valleys, the Inca farming terraces built by hand in the form of amphitheaters, snow-capped mountains and sub-tropical jungle along the way to Aguas Calientes – the town at the base of Machu Picchu.

After, we disembark in Aguas Calientes our English-speaking guide will be waiting for us. If you wish, take the some time to grab a quick sandwich or lunch snack. We then take the shuttle bus for a short 30-minute zig-zagging hill ride to Machu Picchu (2,040m/7,907ft). From there, we have a informative 2 hour guided tour discovering the secrets which lie within. Feel the energy that radiates from the spirituality of this ancient site.

Later, when we have had our fill of exploring the mysterious Machu Picchu Citadel, we return to Aguas Calientes to catch the early evening Vistadome train (4:43 pm or 5:23 pm train) to Poroy. Finally, at the train station we will meet our private vehicle and driver to take you back to your hotel in Cusco, arriving between 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm.

Meals: Snack and hot drinks on the train.

***Please Note: The Vistadome Train only departs and returns to and from Ollantaytambo Train Station in the Sacred Valley during the rainy season (January – April). Orange Nation provides private transfers to and from the train station.

***Huayna Picchu extra hike is not possible due to the time restraints of a one-day tour.

The Vistadome train provides first class service to give you the experience of a lifetime. It also has air conditioning, heating, and adjustable leather seats to provide comfort throughout the trip.

We start our journey when we collect you from your hotel lobby and drive to the Poroy Train station located 25 minutes outside of Cusco, the Train journey to Machu Picchu is about three and a half hours to Aguas Calientes.

Our return trip is from Aguas Calientes to Poroy Train Station, which takes 3.5 hours. When we arrive to Poroy, we will drive in our private van for 25 minutes back to Cusco, arriving to your hotel between 9pm – 9:30pm.

We made 4D / 3N of the Inka Trail. The experience was challenging, but it was worth it. Chef Fortunato's meals and explanations of Jony and David's places were very complete. Tmb the patience to make sure we all get there on time.
