Full Itinerary

A 1-day trip to Machu Picchu starts early, so be ready for your 4am hotel pickup. Once you are safely in the private van we head to Ollantaytambo train station ready for the 6:10am train.

The train journey is a beautiful one, and one of the most iconic in the world. Watch as the Andean farmland and distant mountains transform into deep jungle valleys. As the trees creep closer and the climate gets more tropical, you will know we are nearing our destination.

After an hour and a half the train pulls in to Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu. Waiting at the train station is our guide. Wasting no time, we head directly to the shuttle bus, which will take us up the mountain to the gates of Machu Picchu.

We will begin exploring the Citadel of Machu Picchu with a 2 hour guided tour of the site, visiting many of the important places and learning the ancient history of Machu Picchu. Be sure to ask your guide any and all questions you can think of!

When you have had your fill of the incredible views of Machu Picchu, and finished your tour, we take a bus back down to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes you have your pick of restaurants to grab lunch from (lunch not included). There might be some time for shopping, or sightseeing depending on how long your lunch takes.

The Expedition train will take you back to Ollantaytambo at 4:22pm, following the same spectacular route you took on the way. Once you arrive back to Ollantaytambo, your driver will meet you at the exit from the train station to take you back to your hotel in Cusco. You can expect to arrive at your hotel about 8:00pm.

The guys were very efficient throughout the trip and attentive when we arrived at the campsite. The kitchen service was super delicious , the food quality and healthy, dishes suitable for people (vegans) and a buffet that has nothing to envy others.
Their kindness and efficiency are greatly appreciated for this journey to the Inca Way.

We had a great experience doing the 4d3n Inca Trail. Our porters were so hard working and made sure our tents and equipment were always ready for us. The chef Mario was outstanding and prepared restaurant quality vegetarian food everyday. Our guide Carlos made the trip exceptional, always making sure we were informed and making sure we were all enjoying the trail. He went above and beyond to encourage me when I was unwell. He made the trip the best ever. A beautiful and wonderful trek.

Hiking the Short Inca Trail was hands-down one of the highlights of my entire trip to Peru. This trek is the perfect option if you want a taste of the iconic Inca Trail without committing to the full 4-day hike.

From the moment we started the hike at KM 104 Carlos our guide was amazing and patient. we were surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, lush cloud forests, and fascinating Inca ruins. The trail itself is moderately challenging—expect a steady incline, stone steps, and a bit of cardio—but it’s absolutely doable for anyone with a decent fitness level. The sense of accomplishment when you reach the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) and get your first glimpse of Machu Picchu is
