Full Itinerary

Your adventure begins easy, with a private complimentary airport pick up and transfer directly to your hotel. You’re scheduled to take it easy today, to allow you to adjust to the altitude. If you’re up for it, head out into the city to explore.

There’s plenty to see in the historical center- from the more bohemian neighborhood of San Blas, to San Cristobal church and it’s incredible viewpoint.

One thing is for sure- spend longer than 15 minutes strolling around and you’re certain to see an Inca Wall, a colonial church, and a woman in traditional clothing accompanied by her alpaca.

You can choose what excites you this afternoon. Whether it is wandering the local market and sampling some street food, winding your way through local artists’ stores, checking out some of the museums, or chilling out in your hotel. Cusco is your oyster.

Be sure to check out the city after the sun has set- there’s a certain magic to these cobbled streets at nightfall. But don’t stay out too late! Tomorrow we begin our trip to Machu Picchu.

After a gentle start yesterday, we waste no time today. A private pickup awaits you at your hotel, and we begin the drive through the beautiful Peruvian countryside. Keep your eyes peeled as the city melts away- you won’t regret it.

It’s just 45 minutes to our first stop, Pisac. Pisac is a town that is famous for its huge and bustling market and the ruins that sit high above the town. We will visit both before heading to Urubamba for lunch.

After lunch we head to Maras salt mines. Locals to the town of Maras have been collecting salt from these mines for generations, and you may even see some in the harvesting process while visiting.

We head from the salt mines to Moray, a pre-Inca archeological site used for crop experimentation right up until the site became a protected area. Our last stop of the day is Ollantaytambo, one of the few remaining functioning Inca towns.

We will have a quick tour of Ollantaytambo before jumping on the train to Aguas Calientes- the town at the base of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, your private guide will transfer you to your hotel to check in for the night.

We don’t want to waste a moment of the day, so after an early breakfast we jump on the shuttle bus up to the citadel. We arrive in time to watch the sunrise from inside the citadel before our tour begins.

**Optional hike

**Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain are optional treks within Machu Picchu Citadel which does not include a guide. This is a self-guided climb that you will do after your guided tour of Machu Picchu. If you would like the extra hike to be guided, please request in advance. There is an extra cost for this.

After the tour we take the bus back to Aguas Calientes. If time permits than we get to explore the artisanal markets, stroll the cobbled streets, or even check out the hot springs.

Finally, we board our train back to Ollantaytambo where our private transportation will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. Estimated arrival time in Cusco is 7:00pm.

All too soon, we arrive at the last morning of your time in Cusco. Start it right with a delicious breakfast from your hotel before your guide picks you up at 9am.

We start with a walking tour of the city, exploring the famous San Pedro Market, a true representation of authentic Cusqueñian day to day life. The guide will explain the history of this market as you wander through the narrow aisles laden with colorful fabrics, fruits, vegetables, bread, shaman stalls, etc.

We head from the market to Cusco’s main square. A busy and vibrant space that marks the colonial center of the city. Notable features include wide stone pathways and well-kept colorful gardens, as well as intricate churches.

The next stop is the famous street of Hatun Rumiyoc. The walls of the palace have a Snake and Puma on it. Hunt out the well-known 12 angle stone which is a symbol of perfection in Incan Architecture.

After, we will head to the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha) upon which the Convent of Santo Domingo was built. Qorikancha is a living representation of merging of Inca architecture and the Spanish conquest.

At the conclusion of your city tour, you have free time until your flight back to Lima, ready for your next destination.

The guys were very efficient throughout the trip and attentive when we arrived at the campsite. The kitchen service was super delicious , the food quality and healthy, dishes suitable for people (vegans) and a buffet that has nothing to envy others.
Their kindness and efficiency are greatly appreciated for this journey to the Inca Way.

We had a great experience doing the 4d3n Inca Trail. Our porters were so hard working and made sure our tents and equipment were always ready for us. The chef Mario was outstanding and prepared restaurant quality vegetarian food everyday. Our guide Carlos made the trip exceptional, always making sure we were informed and making sure we were all enjoying the trail. He went above and beyond to encourage me when I was unwell. He made the trip the best ever. A beautiful and wonderful trek.

Hiking the Short Inca Trail was hands-down one of the highlights of my entire trip to Peru. This trek is the perfect option if you want a taste of the iconic Inca Trail without committing to the full 4-day hike.

From the moment we started the hike at KM 104 Carlos our guide was amazing and patient. we were surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, lush cloud forests, and fascinating Inca ruins. The trail itself is moderately challenging—expect a steady incline, stone steps, and a bit of cardio—but it’s absolutely doable for anyone with a decent fitness level. The sense of accomplishment when you reach the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) and get your first glimpse of Machu Picchu is
