Rainbow Mountain Hike 1 day

Mount Ausangate (6,377mts/20,921ft) is the highest and most sacred mountain in Southern Peru. Every year in June, a week before the feast of Corpus Christi, thousands of pilgrims make their way to the face of the mountain during the festival of Qoyllur Rit’i. The Quechua name means “snow star” or  “luminous snow” in English. The devotees make this trip to give thanks to Pachamama (mother earth) and to ask for an abundant and fruitful farming season.
