  • 3* Accommodation: Maytaq Wasin or Waman Hotels
  • 4* Accommodation: Costa del Sol Ramada, Casa Andina Private Collection or Novotel Hotels

After a gentle start yesterday, we waste no time today. A private pickup awaits you at your hotel, and we begin the drive through the beautiful Peruvian countryside. Keep your eyes peeled as the city melts away- you won’t regret it.

It’s just 45 minutes to our first stop, Pisac. Pisac is a town that is famous for its huge and bustling market and the ruins that sit high above the town. We will visit both before heading to Urubamba for lunch.

After lunch we head to Maras salt mines. Locals to the town of Maras have been collecting salt from these mines for generations, and you may even see some in the harvesting process while visiting.

We head from the salt mines to Moray, a pre-Inca archeological site used for crop experimentation right up until the site became a protected area. Our last stop of the day is Ollantaytambo, one of the few remaining functioning Inca towns.

We will have a quick tour of Ollantaytambo before jumping on the train to Aguas Calientes- the town at the base of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, your private guide will transfer you to your hotel to check in for the night.

  • 3* Accommodations: Hotel Ferre Machu Picchu
  • 4* Accommodations: El Mapi or Tierra Viva Superior

We don’t want to waste a moment of the day, so after an early breakfast we jump on the shuttle bus up to the citadel. We arrive in time to watch the sunrise from inside the citadel before our tour begins.

**Optional hike

**Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain are optional treks within Machu Picchu Citadel which does not include a guide. This is a self-guided climb that you will do after your guided tour of Machu Picchu. If you would like the extra hike to be guided, please request in advance. There is an extra cost for this.

After the tour we take the bus back to Aguas Calientes. If time permits than we get to explore the artisanal markets, stroll the cobbled streets, or even check out the hot springs.

Finally, we board our train back to Ollantaytambo where our private transportation will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. Estimated arrival time in Cusco is 7:00pm.

  • 3* Accommodation: Qoricancha Waman or Mataq Wasin Hotel
  • 4* Accommodation: Costa del Sol Ramada, and Casa Andina

The day begins early, your guide will be ready and waiting in your hotel lobby at 4am, ready for the 3 hour drive to the trailhead that stretches out ahead of us. Along the way, there are amazing views of farming Inca terraces, traditional villages, valleys and high Andean peaks.

As you start your hike, you will have views of the Ausangate Mountain and other glaciers surrounding you. You can chat with the local people, who are still keeping traditional Quechua culture alive. Learn about their traditional clothes and the significance of the different hats worn by the men. Also, ask your guide to teach you a few phrases in Quechua!

After 1.5 hours of hiking, we finally reach the Rainbow Mountain. After taking a moment to admire the view, you will have a bit of time to explore the area. You can take pictures or just soak up the view.

Once you have had your fill of the Rainbow Mountain, there is an optional hike to the top of the Red Valley. This loop takes about 45 minutes, and it is completely worth the effort.

At this point, we hike back down the way we came. The hike takes 1 hour, then we enjoy our lunch which is prepared by our talented cook.

We will begin the 3-hour drive back to Cusco, dropping you off at your Cusco hotel, arriving at around 6:30pm.

  • Meals included: hot breakfast & lunch

We will drive you to airport with plenty of time for you flight back home or next destination. Please coordinate your pickup time with the office.

The guys were very efficient throughout the trip and attentive when we arrived at the campsite. The kitchen service was super delicious , the food quality and healthy, dishes suitable for people (vegans) and a buffet that has nothing to envy others.
Their kindness and efficiency are greatly appreciated for this journey to the Inca Way.

We had a great experience doing the 4d3n Inca Trail. Our porters were so hard working and made sure our tents and equipment were always ready for us. The chef Mario was outstanding and prepared restaurant quality vegetarian food everyday. Our guide Carlos made the trip exceptional, always making sure we were informed and making sure we were all enjoying the trail. He went above and beyond to encourage me when I was unwell. He made the trip the best ever. A beautiful and wonderful trek.

Hiking the Short Inca Trail was hands-down one of the highlights of my entire trip to Peru. This trek is the perfect option if you want a taste of the iconic Inca Trail without committing to the full 4-day hike.

From the moment we started the hike at KM 104 Carlos our guide was amazing and patient. we were surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, lush cloud forests, and fascinating Inca ruins. The trail itself is moderately challenging—expect a steady incline, stone steps, and a bit of cardio—but it’s absolutely doable for anyone with a decent fitness level. The sense of accomplishment when you reach the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) and get your first glimpse of Machu Picchu is
